Coasters

If you’re looking for a cosy but modern restaurant for dinner in Southwold, Coasters would be a great choice for you. We’ve been a number of times ourselves, and would recommend it for the seasonally changing menu, the longest gin menu we’ve seen in Suffolk and the lovely service you get from the waiting staff!

In terms of what’s on offer, some of our favourites have been great local fish dishes and a stunning chestnut risotto, they’re all cooked with elegant flavours of fine dining but served in really decent-sized portions so nobody will go hungry!

Booking in advance for Saturday nights and Sunday lunches is essential. As with everywhere in this popular coastal town, you may find yourself on the beach with fish and chips if you don’t plan ahead!

For a lovely after dinner walk, the restaurant is just a few metres away from the greens, a lovely open area of grass leading to the coast at Gun Hill where you can follow the line of beach huts down until you reach the sand dunes of the South end of town and walk along the waters edge. That’s what we call a romantic end to the evening!
