If you’re looking to get away from it all and take in some beautiful Suffolk nature, Firs Glamping is a great starting point.
There are some stunning local walks from the site itself taking in views of the surrounding farmland, churches and woodland plus circular walks from local pubs including one starting from The White Hart in Blythburgh, with stunning views of the Blyth Estuary and the birds which live there (if you’re feeling lazy, there are great views from the pub car park itself!) For the more serious birdwatcher, there is the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve just 20 mins away with coastal lagoons providing a home for some rare British birds and playful otters in the reed banks!
It’s perfect for idyllic walks, family activities with plenty for children at their discovery centre and den-building spots, and even an option for the more adventurous with a 4×4 safari taking you to see some of the otherwise hidden parts of the Reserve. The beautiful purple heathland of Dunwich is just along the coast from Minsmere (there’s a nice coastal walk from one to the other) offering fabulous photo opportunities when the heather is flowering, bordering an unspoilt beach and eerie lost town – with a cute museum to tell the tale!
