Head down to the harbour to try your hand at a good old-fashioned seaside activity this summer – crabbing! Grab your crabbing bucket, line and bait (available to hire from Firs Glamping) and set up at Southwold or Walberswick, the two towns located either side of the harbour. Walberswick is home to the UK crabbing championships after all!
There are plenty of spots to drop your line and see who takes the bait, and don’t worry, if the crabs don’t like the taste of your bacon, you can do a short walk to cross the harbour by bridge and take in some of the lovely marsh views to try your luck from the other side. Or hop on the foot ferry which crosses the harbour throughout the day.
Whilst you’re there, don’t miss the fantastic fresh fish offering to take home from Samantha K’s on the Southwold side, or pop into The Harbour Inn for a hearty fish and chips. If you’re across the water in Walberswick, try The Anchor for a beautiful beer garden, and tasty food – the last time we went there was a Beer and Oyster festival in full swing!
