Right in the centre of the lovely market town of Beccles, just 8 miles from Firs Glamping, you’ll find Upstairs at Baileys – a real taste of the Mediterranean in Suffolk. During the day, explore the downstairs Delicatessen offering fabulous ranges of continental meats, cheeses and chutneys to take home as well as light lunches served to enjoy on site. If you head upstairs to the bistro restaurant, you can partake in the 3 course lunch with a strong Spanish influence – and most likely a perfect pairing of Spanish wine from their wide range!
In the evening, on Fridays and Saturdays, Upstairs at Baileys becomes an intimate dining experience with an A La Carte menu of traditional Spanish tapas, cooked by their Catalan chef and served with lashings of flair and charisma from the Maitre D’ who will make you feel like you’re an honoured guest in his welcoming home! The Chorizo al Vino was stand out (and we’ve tried a lot of it over the years!) and we really enjoyed the atmosphere in this cosy venue. If you’re wanting a souvenir, pop to the Deli where you can create a bespoke hamper to take home and carry on your culinary enjoyment – or give it as a gift if you’re less selfish with good food than us!
