The Bell Inn in Middleton is well worth the short drive from Firs Glamping, being around 15 mins to the small village location. Whatever you’re looking for, The Bell Inn has it:
Fabulous traditional country style? Certainly, it has a thatched roof and lovely internal features such as a roaring open fire, original beams and low ceilings. It also has some great quirks including brass plaques on the floor in the bar to mark the spots where regulars have over-indulged and found themselves hitting the deck!
Delicious food? For sure, the food at The Bell Inn is outstanding, ranking no. 1 of any pub food I’ve had to date! It’s much more restaurant quality than pub grub. The a la carte menu serves elegant British and continental dishes with beautiful sauces and flavoursome jus. On a Sunday, go for the roast dinner option and you won’t be disappointed, this is a high-quality plate. There’s a great veggie option too.
Great service? Yes, the staff here are wonderfully friendly (in a genuine way, they’ve really managed to find people who are happy to help without any hint of putting it on for the tip!) and relaxed, and always willing to help with any questions or recommendations.
Decent beer? Definitely, this is an Adnams pub and has everything you’d expect on tap, plus plenty of Adnams wines and spirits to boot.
Good atmosphere? Absolutely, the bar is often full of locals and of an evening you may encounter a sing-song from a local band!
Outside space? Plenty, the pub has a spacious beer garden with picnic benches and lovely rural views.
What’s not to love!
