This weekend in Southwold the 5th annual Arts Festival kicks off with a week-long celebration of music, art, comedy and storytelling all hosted in the beautiful town-centre. There’s something for everyone with performances from some of the UK’s finest talents including highly respected hit-singer Mica Paris and veteran of the comedy world Barry Cryer, as well as acts with a much more local focus; there are a number of talks centring on Southwold, it’s history and famous ex-residents if you’re keen to find out more about this coastal town.
The whole festival bursts into colour with a street festival that’s not to miss! The High Street will come to life with musicians, dancers and performers all following the theme for the day which is, fittingly, The Sea. But don’t think you can’t join in, there’s a prize for the best costume in the fancy dress parade at noon – just grab your mermaid tail! The bunting’s already up and the sun’s out, and it’s only a 7 minute drive from Firs Glamping, so all that’s missing is you!
