After our second trip to this beautiful country pub, I decided it was a must to give it a recommendation on here. It’s worth the 20 minute drive from Firs Glamping for the quality of food and the great atmosphere here – we can’t stay away!
The building is a cosy space full of old beams, the menu is elegant restaurant-style food with some outstanding deserts, and the garden houses their kitchen garden from where many of the fresh ingredients are sourced seasonally.
Any produce which doesn’t grow in the back garden is sourced locally from traditional Suffolk suppliers (Blythburgh Pork, Gressingham Duck and Nethergate Wines to name a few). Sometimes, the ingredients have even been sourced as part of an exchange with locals who swap their produce for something on offer in the garden!
But don’t be fooled into thinking the food is as quaint as all that, the menu offers a perfect selection of well-presented and carefully-created modern dishes.
In the summer months, we’d highly recommend the terrace area in the back – a spacious tabled area with Mediterranean vibes, weekly BBQs and plenty of sun drenched corners to sit and enjoy a crisp Sauvignon Blanc!
