Norwich comes alive at this time of year with a 17 day festival of performance, music, literature and art called the Norfolk & Norwich Festival. There is something for everyone from rising South African solo artist Nakhane (previously featured on the “Later…with Jools” TV show) to church choir music, intimate acrobatics to Cuban Tea Dances and literary gems to surprise and delight – check out the trailer to get a taste of what’s on!
If you don’t want to book anything specific in The Adnams Spiegeltent but you still want to soak up the atmosphere, simply head to the free outdoor Garden Party outside The Forum and in the Chapelfield Gardens on the 18th and 19th May to get a full afternoon’s entertainment. There are plenty of local produce and food stalls about too to enjoy some of Norwich’s growing foodie scene.
As you’d expect, there’s plenty for children to enjoy in The Spiegeltent with Bounce and Rhyme Time including them in the literature side of the festival, and even a Baby and Toddler Disco, which are both free events for you and your little ones to enjoy!
It’s a great time of year to visit Norwich to see it in all it’s glory – this festival really represents the community spirit and arts scene that exists throughout the year in this friendly city.
