Southwold has a hidden gem – you won’t spot it if you walk along the main road through town, or along the beach, but set just back is a lovely “small but perfectly formed” vintage cinema, to quote their own words, with only 70 seats!
Set near the site of a cinema which once existed in Southwold, this cute venue has the main aim of recapturing the experience of going to the cinema in 1912! It shows a mixture of classic and current releases, but the films aren’t the only things to bring you here – it has a rising wurlitzer style organ, royal box and usherettes all adding to the evening’s entertainment.
Take a look at the listings on the “what’s on” tab of their website and get down there to support the Southwold Film Society and this beautiful local gem! What’s more, it’s only 5 miles away from Firs Glamping.
You do need to purchase membership to attend – but at only £3 this is easily doable for holidaymakers too. All details on their website.
