Have you got your ducks in a row for the great Beccles Duck Race 2018? No? Then you’d better get decorating! This year on July 29th at 11am, the annual Duck Race will commence at Beccles Quay. All you need to do to get involved is get down to Cosseys, Beales, Sweet Memories or Morrisons in Beccles and purchase your duck, then decorate it in your favourite colours. All proceeds go to Beccles Sea Cadets so it’s a great local community event to support.
It’s not all about the ducks though, there are donkey rides, children’s entertainment and even a fun dog show being hosted alongside the race. So if you think it’s your rescue pup’s time to shine, or people have told you you’re the spitting image of your furry friend, there’s a category for you to come and try your luck! Registration is from 10:45, so it’s time to get your pooch Crufts-worthy.
At the end of the race, the local Sea Cadets will be out in force to collect all the ducks and bring home the stragglers, so no need to worry about rogue plastic ducks bobbing their way up the Norfolk Broads!!
